All are being given a gift and opportunity from their soul to step into that fear and release it. This can be done just by recognizing it and saying "Thank you". If you need to cry, cry...if you need to get angry, go outside, find a safe space and yell. It doesn't matter. The purpose is safe and non-judgmental release. It no longer serves a purpose.
Fear and un-awareness will cause one to try to suppress it again. The "need" to hold on kicks in when one is not conscious. This is a habit reaction to the feeling or the though that the unconscious one .... stepping INTO awareness and observation allows us to just let go. What good does that fear do you in this very moment? Is it helping you or hindering you? Does it keep you prisoner to the thoughts that run rampant in your mind?
So step a little higher into your consciousness. Move from the re-actor, the physical being and go into your "soul self" and look down from a higher perspective. Is that "thing" you fear truly present in THIS moment where you exist? Or is it a THOUGHT in your mind? Are those feelings you feel in response to your own thoughts? If so, in this moment, get present & understand that THAT thought is your own now. You may have acquired it or learned it from another, throughout "time", but right here, right now, YOU are thinking that THOUGHT and THAT thought is YOUR CHOICE.
The moment you get present enough to comprehend that, you have a choice and a chance to change it. In THIS moment, you are no longer a victim. You can go into blame, guilt, judgement (lower-vibration) or you can say "you know what? NO, enough is enough and I CHOOSE to let go. I CHOOSE happy. I CHOOSE my soul self over my thinking self. I CHOOSE MY HEART!
It's not feeling the feeling that hurts... it's the thought of feeling that feeling.... choose to feel... it is the purpose right now.... let it go.....be free....
What you CHOOSE to do is now up to you.
