
Write a letter from you to your ego.
Step back, recognize that your ego is a separate entity all of its own. Your heart another. They are dueling, so you have to enter the fight!
Pretend it is the child that misbehaved or the mate that did you wrong. What do you have to say to your ego? Blame it, be angry at it, cry... write a letter, yell at it, say absolutely everything you have held in for so long that at this moment owns you...
Then when you are done, when you have said everything that you had to say.... stop, breathe, close your eyes and....
Tell it thank you. Thank you for trying to protect you, no matter how dysfunctional it has been in the past (the more trauma, the more dysfunction it seems), it is no longer needed for that purpose. Appreciate that it brought this issue within you that needed to be healed to your attention, so that you could deal with it and release it to the universe in love. Then tell it you forgive it, that you love it and let it go.
Now, focus on your heart. Know that your heart is pure, full of love and waiting for you. Thank it for always being there. See how much lighter your heart feels at this moment.
Whatever it was, you learned from it. You don't need it anymore. Let it go. Be one with the universe.
